Our Founder | Founder's Letter
To those who believe their individuality is their greatest strength,
My name is Andrew M. Purcell. I am the founder of Purcell’s Clothing Company, LLC, the visionary behind The Purcell Corporation, a Certified Nurse Aide, a Residential Program Worker, and an author. But more than any title, I am someone who chose to build a life rooted in ownership — of identity, ambition, and direction.
I did not grow up with a blueprint for building companies. I grew up learning how to navigate adversity, expectation, and the quiet pressure to fit into spaces that did not always feel designed for me. At twenty-one years old, I made the decision to come out as gay — a decision that reshaped my understanding of courage, individuality, and self-respect.
Coming out was not a branding moment. It was a defining life moment. It forced me to confront fear, perception, and identity in a way that made one thing clear: if I was going to live honestly, I had to build honestly. I had to stop shrinking and start constructing a life that reflected who I truly was.
Purcell’s was born from that realization.
“Embrace Your Individuality” is not a slogan created for marketing. It is a principle forged from experience. I know what it feels like to question whether being different is a liability. I also know what happens when you recognize it as leverage.
Clothing became the foundation because presentation matters. The way we show up in the world communicates confidence long before we speak. Purcell’s Clothing Company was created for individuals who are building something — people who understand that identity and ambition are connected.
But my vision was never limited to apparel.
I am an avid traveler and cultural enthusiast. I am drawn to different cities, different languages, different ways of living. Travel has taught me that power, ambition, and identity look different across cultures — yet the human desire for ownership and purpose remains universal. Those experiences influence not only my businesses but my writing.
As an author, I weave my love for exploration, history, politics, and authentic human connection into works of historical fiction, political thrillers, and dystopian narratives. Storytelling allows me to explore power structures, ambition, morality, and the complexities of human nature in ways business alone cannot. Writing sharpens my perspective. It strengthens my discipline. It deepens my empathy.
By day, I work as a Certified Nurse Aide and Residential Program Worker. Those roles keep me grounded. They remind me that leadership is not abstract — it is service. They reinforce the value of patience, structure, and resilience. They expose me to real human struggle, real perseverance, and real strength.
By night, I build. I write. I plan. I study.
The Purcell Corporation is not built from fantasy. It is built from long-term intention. My goals include expansion into real estate, construction, hospitality, and travel infrastructure — not for status, but for ownership. I believe ownership changes trajectories. I believe building assets creates freedom. I believe disciplined expansion creates generational stability.
Family plays a central role in my life. As the corporation grows, my intention is to bring trusted friends and family into leadership roles — creating not just employment, but opportunity. I want to build something that provides access. Something that creates structure for others to thrive within.
I want to live a life defined by movement — geographically, intellectually, and professionally. I want to continue traveling, learning, meeting new people, and understanding how different cultures approach ambition and success. I want to write stories that challenge readers to think deeper. I want to build companies that operate with credibility and discipline. I want to create assets that endure.
Most importantly, I want to live honestly.
Coming out at twenty-one taught me that authenticity has a cost — but suppression costs more. Purcell’s exists because I chose authenticity. It exists because I refused to minimize who I am in order to be comfortable.
If you are someone who has ever felt different, underestimated, or uncertain about your place — understand this:
Individuality is not weakness. It is foundation.
Purcell’s and The Purcell Corporation will grow deliberately, strategically, and responsibly. But no matter how large the structure becomes, the principle will remain personal.
Embrace Your Individuality — and build with it.
